To enter a rover in Combat Race, send your rover, along with your name and your rover's name, to sord {AT} battlespot {DOT} com

Uses the Arena Race scenario, no restrictions!

Each rover will compete against all other contestants twice. Once as Team 1 and once as Team 2. The first rover to complete three laps will be declared the winner. If neither rover completes three laps within [TBD] seconds, the rover with the most completed laps will be declared the winner. If the rovers have completed an equal number of whole laps (even if one rover is way ahead), the contest will be scored as a tie.

Rankings are determined first by greatest number of wins, then by the least losses. If rovers are still equally ranked, the rover with the best win time will get the better rank. If there still is no difference, I will give the advantage to the more entertaining rover.

Each contestant may have up to three rovers competing at one time.

Mar.22.01 - I've re-run all battles with the new scenario and added Arena Racer mkV (which did very well by grabbing first). Congratulations Rollin!

Jan.22.01 - HugeRobot enters ArenaDefender. It beat GunRunner and allows Scott's Arena2 to move back into first place.

Jan.10.01 - A new entry from Marko. Arena Miner is a small wheeled that lays mines. Seems to have good avoidance and recovery routines, but the bug the lap counting bug in Arena Race hurts it's score a bit.

Also, I removed VomitStopper from the rolls as I never was able to get its vmf file to work...

Oct.22.00 - Scott updated his Arena1 rover to Arena2.
(old) - Kluge enters GunRunner4 and SpeedOnly3. GunRunner4 manages to knock the competition around and is undefeated. The one tie is due to a bug that crashed MindRover (already reported), I'll re-run it and it will probably work. I don't see how it could effect the standings (Arena1 will get a loss, tie with SpeedOnly3 and keeps its better position due to a better best lap time). Right now, GunRunner4 gets a big help because the other rovers restart their lap when the get blown up. My guess is once rovers start paying attention to their spawing position, GunRunner4 will need a bit more speed to keep up...
